Tree Surgery Explained

If you're not sure what type of service you require take a look below where we give you more detail, or give us a call and we'd be happy to assist.

Tree surgery involves professionally managing, maintaining and pruning trees. We can do this to improve asthetics, ensure your trees health, prevent structural failures and minimise hazards to you and your property.

We use a variety of professional equipment and methods to achieve this safely including tree climbing and rigging. All waste is cleared away on site, using chipping equipment, chainsaws and blowers. We can also remove stumps to clear the ground ready re-purposing.

We're fully insured to complete work, so you can book with us feeling secure, and we have the necessary qualifications.

Here are some of our key services or terms you might here:

Pollarding

  • Cutting back the main branches of a tree to the trunk to control its ultimate size and encourage denser, bushier regrowth.

Tree Felling & Removal

  • Safely dismantling large or dangerous trees in confined spaces using precise cutting and rigging to avoid property damage.

Deadwooding

  • Removing dead, heavy branches to eliminate the risk of them falling and causing harm.

Crown Thinning

  • Removing dead, diseased, or crossing branches to improve light penetration and tree structure.

Crown Reduction

  • Lowering the tree's height or spread, to make it easier to manage or away from other hazards (e.g. house) or away from space you wish to use in another way.

Crown Lifting

  • Removing lower branches to clear space underneath, i.e. for pedestrians or vehicles.

Stump Grinding

  • Following a removal or on an old existing one, the remaining stump is mechanically ground down below ground level to prevent regrowth and clear the space.

Tree and Shrub Planting

  • We can help with getting plants into the ground correctly, to give them the best chance of survival. We can also advise on good plants given the planting location and source trees and shrubs to be installed.

Tree Assessments and Permissions

  • As qualified arborists, we can complete tree assements and advise what work may be necessary or beneficial. Where special permisions are required to complete any work we can assist with making applications for this, including for Tree Protection Orders (TPOs) and Conservation Areas.
