We offer various hedge services including one-off and regular trimming, hedge reductions and removals. Depending on your needs, we can advise on the possibilities and discuss with you what each option provides.

Hedge Trimming

• Hedge trimming maintains hedges by cutting back the young, leafy growth to keep a neat, compact shape. It promotes denser foliage and prevents plants from becoming overgrown or bare at the base. This can involve trimming each side, tapering sides and leveling the top.

• We offer this as a one-off service, or can schedule regular trimming (e.g. quarterly, 6 monthly or yearly) to keep your hedges neat without the hassle of ringing to re-book.

Hedge Reductions

• Hedge reductions significantly decreases the height or width of an overgrown hedge by cutting back into older wood. Unlike routine trimming, it typically removes up to two thirds of the plant's overall mass at once. This can make it easier to manage ongoingly and encourage healthy new growth.

Hedge Removals

• Hedge removal involves completely cutting down an existing row of shrubs or bushes to ground level or below the ground by also removing the stumps. This is often done to reclaim garden space, install a new boundary fence, remove diseased shrubs, or clear the way for landscaping projects.

Stump Grinding

• Following a hedge removal or where a hedge has been removed in the past, we can mechanically grind down the stumps below ground level to prevent regrowth and clear the space.

Hedge Assessments and Permissions

• As qualified arborists, we can complete hedge assements and advise what work may be necessary or beneficial. Where special permisions are required to complete any work we can assist with making applications for this, including for Protection Orders and Conservation Areas.
